The High Luminosity LHC will operate at luminosities up to 7.5 times the original LHC design luminosity, and accumulate 3 times more data than originally envisioned. In order to fully exploit the physics potential of this new phase, the detectors will be significantly upgraded. Highlights of these upgrades are presented, with particular focus on new technologies.
