Abstract
Both backwards and forward Brillouin scattering are powerful tools for sensing applications. While most of the approaches lead to distributed fiber sensors applications, we present a number of all-optical techniques that allow fabricating point-to-point sensors. Most of them are based on the use of resonant fiber devices for interrogating the acoustic vibrations, limiting the axial resolution of the technique. This fact paves the way to setup multiplexed sensor along a single optical fiber line.
