Toward Intelligent Pedagogy: Design and Evaluation of a Learning Environment Based on Artificial Intelligence and Serious Games

Abstract
In higher education institutions, teachers are increasingly faced with the challenge of keeping learners interested and helping them study. In this context, serious games that use artificial intelligence are becoming new and creative ways to teach, mixing ludic and pedagogical aspects. Artificial intelligence enables this tool to dynamically adapt educational content to learning profiles, track progress, adjust task difficulty, and offer intelligent, instant feedback. It is in this perspective that our contribution fits in, proposing a serious game enriched by an intelligent tutor intended for learning algorithms and programming within the Computer Science department of the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Nador. The approach is based on an architecture that analyzes learner interaction and offers personalized educational content. This method aims to place the learner at the center of the learning process through progressive guidance, personalized feedback, and changing activities that grow with the learner's progress. The experimental results show that 86% of participants appreciated the fact that the intelligent tutor adjusted the level of difficulty, the nature of the challenges, and the progression of the scenario to maintain a balance between motivation and learning.
