Treatment of Turbid Water Using Selected Plant Seed Coagulants: An Experimental Study

Abstract
Urban lakes are essential for preserving ecological equilibrium and promoting sustainable urban growth. However, these water bodies have seen serve degradation in recent years as a result of the quick growth of land usage and the ongoing release of household and industrial trash. The physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of Futala Lake in Nagpur, Maharashtra, are assessed in this study. This study goal is to asses the lake’s effluent’s turbidity levels and investigate low-cost, cost-effective ways to lower them. Untreated effluent discharge can contaminate soil and groundwater in addition to surface water. Therefore, in order to fulfil the requisite discharge criteria, effluent must be properly treated. We have chosen Neem Seeds, Orange Seeds, Moringa Seeds, Tulsi seeds, Soyabean Seeds as possible bio flocculants in order to accomplish this. These seeds are widely accessible in India and are frequently used to purify water in rural and tribal communities.
