The latest advancement in the transportation industry focuses on enhancing environmental sustainability and alleviating grid demand through electric vehicles. This comprehensive research delves into vehicle-to-home (V2H) technology history, evolution, technical aspects (battery technologies, energy management systems, communication protocols, and standards), benefits, challenges, and limitations. Additionally, it provides some examples of case studies and practical applications with future perspectives on technology, market evolution, policies, and regulations. This study aims to serve as a valuable resource for future research endeavors.
