Abstract
To investigate the intricate dynamics of traffic flow, the percolationbackbone fractal network is defined using a cell-transmission model. The impact of varying transition rates is studied in the closed fractal network. From the empirical data, the behavior of the transition rate is found to be similar to the velocity-density curve. Consequently, numerical simulations are employed to attain the macroscopic fundamental diagrams (MFDs). The findings reveal that the decline in the transition rate’s coefficient leads to a corresponding reduction in traffic flow.
