Introducing explicitly correlated coupled cluster approaches into the world of astrophysics

Pierre Valiron’s contribution in the field of explicitly correlated coupled cluster approaches is briefly overviewed. Beside parallelization of the DIRCCR12-OS code, Pierre was involved in its development for open shell systems. His contribution towards a systematic development of special basis sets suited to explicitly correlated calculations within the R12 framework is appreciated in particular.
