Broad resonances in light nuclei studied with β- and γ-spectroscopy

Recent work on broad nuclear resonances in 12C are discussed. An attempt is made to formulate pressing currently open questions, which should be adressed in future studies. A new method for identifying and studying broad resonances is presented, and first results discussed.
