Several new features were added to the PROFUSION code package in order to accurately simulate the optical part of the upper launcher for the ECRH system for ITER. The most important addition was the implementation of a generic “Physical Optics Surface”, which utilizes the surface equivalence principle in order to analyse the effect of non-planar apertures on the generation of stray power and the radiated beams.
