The fast advancement of digital technologies has changed the face of the world as we know it, opening up unprecedented levels of coverage, automation and innovation. Yet, this evolution has also led to a wide range of cybersecurity threats that compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. This review paper present thorough overview of emerging challenges in the cybersecurity landscape, such as advanced malware, ransomware, supply chain attacks, deepfake-driven intrusions, and advanced persistent threats (APTs). This definitely delves into the newest technologies in defense systems, like machine learning and artificial intelligence-based identification systems, blockchain for safe transactions, zero trust design, and behavior analytics. The paper identifies limitations in current solutions and outlines a spectrum of research frontiers addressing proactive threat hunting, privacy preservation, and resilience to zero-day exploits. As cybercriminals are constantly evolving their techniques, this review synthesizes recent work to raise awareness among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers about the expanding threat surface and to encourage the design of novel cybersecurity strategies.
