The turbulence anisotropy is studied experimentally in the wake behind a circular cylinder in crossflow. The circular cylinder of aspect ratio 12 was placed in low turbulence flow, Reynolds number was 5k. For the 3-component velocity vector evaluation, the stereo Particle Image Velocimetry method was used. The Lumley triangle method was applied to quantify the turbulence anisotropy.
