Modeling of distributed energy resources (DERs) in a distribution grid

Abstract
The article deals with the simulation of the operation of decentralized energy resources (DER) within a distribution network. The aim is to analyze the impact of photovoltaic (PV) systems and electric vehicle (EV) technology in G2V (Grid-To-Vehicle) and V2G (Vehicle-To-Grid) modes on the power balance and stability of a node in a low-voltage distribution system. Using a MATLAB Simulink simulation model, several operational scenarios were analyzed – without connected DERs, with photovoltaic plant and in last scenario with EVs connected in G2V and V2G mode. The results show that the integration of PV and V2G systems leads to grid relief and stabilization of power conditions at the node.
